UK investor buying off-plan, Dubai
Six instalments, one plan: a Dubai off-plan purchase in pounds
An AED 2.4m off-plan apartment paid over 30 months. Planning every instalment in sterling, with alerts at each stage, kept the budget on track.

- Purchase price
- AED 2.4m
- Instalments
- 6 over 30 months
- Alerts set
- One per stage
The challenge
The developer's plan spread payments over two and a half years. Because the dirham is pegged to the US dollar, every instalment depended on GBP/USD.
The investor wanted to know what each payment would cost in pounds and avoid paying at a bad moment.
What we did
- 01Every instalment mappedDates and amounts from the contract were turned into a sterling plan.
- 02Alerts ahead of each stageRate alerts were set weeks before each due date, so funding could happen on a good day.
- 03Paid straight to escrowEach instalment went to the project's escrow account with the developer's reference.
The outcome
- No surprises: each instalment's sterling cost was known well ahead.
- Funding on stronger days for the pound rather than on the due date.
